The Maldives is made up of more than 1000 islands, and there are over 100 resorts. After looking at many of the resorts, we decided to stay at Sun Aqua Vilureef, and Iโm so glad we did! If you are going to the Maldives this is hands down the best resort.
Here is a description of my day and a half in paradise.
We arrived at Male airport at 7:40am. Our resort representative greeted and escorted us to their private lounge. They provided fresh juice and snacks until the seaplane was ready to take us to the island.
The seaplane experience is just incredible and I recommend it over a speedboat. Our resort only allowed seaplane transfers so we were lucky to experience flying over the many islands that make up this beautiful country both on our arrival and departure ๐
When arriving at the resort we were greeted by our personal hotel attendee. She explained everything about the island, and all of their incredible services. They upgraded us to the top water villa which included an infinity pool and personal hammock over the water. The villa was beyond 5 stars! You will never want to leave.
As part of our all inclusive package we had unlimited food and beverage, a free 15 minute neck and back massage, and two excursions. Also free two hours of your choice from a variety of water sports, and of course snorkeling is free for your whole stay.ย Also included in our package was a free photoshoot by a professional photographer to remember the special moments from your trip. My partner and I donโt drink and still the all inclusive package is entirely worth it !!!!
I have to tell you that from the time of booking until the time we left the resort the service was impeccable. This resort will go above and beyond to ensure you have the best holiday of your life. I have never been treated so well anywhere!
The island is small but perfect. Everything is easily accessible. On one side of the island they have three entrance points to their beautiful reef. We snorkeled the reef three times during our short stay. I canโt describe to you how beautiful and colorful the life is under water there. You will want to spend hours watching the fish play with you, interact with each other and the reef. If you are lucky you will see sea turtles and sharks as well. We did see about 5 baby sharks and one mama shark while snorkeling. The baby sharks are very curious and they will come straight up to you and say hello.
At 6 pm every day they feed the sting rays on the shore. It is an enjoyable experience to see different types of sting rays, fish, and sharks anxiously await to be fed and pet by the local staff.
At night they have activities like local music, karaoke, and crab races ๐
Excursions include dolphin cruises, visits to local islands, and sunset and sunrise fishing to name a few.
The Maldives is a must travel to destination in my book. Even if you only have a day and a half to spare at this magical resort, it is time well spent. Many of the staff and locals were surprised at how short our stay was, but honestly I felt it was perfect. Two- three days is a great stay in my opinion.
