I visited Nepal in December of 2013. I first landed in Kathmandu and toured the city for a bit, then headed off to a 4 day trek in Pokhara, and finished the trip with some wild life adventure in Chitwan. This is the one trip that I did use a tour company. You don’t need to use a tour company, however I did feel that the prices were good for the services and went ahead with it.
Here was our itinerary:
-
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu, meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Thamel Eco Lodge dollars for the night.
-
Day 2: Kathmandu city tour and night in Kathmandu
-
Day 3: Pokhara early morning flight to pohkara….then Drive to Nayapul, start the trek. Trek to Tikhedhunga
-
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani
-
Day 5: Early morning hike to Poon Hill, further trek to Tadapani
-
Day 6: Trek to Nayapul via Ghandruk
-
Day 7: Parahawking and free day on your own
-
Day 8: Drive to Chitwan, evening short activities
-
Day 9: Full day activities at Chitwan
-
Day 10: Morning activity and fly back to Kathmandu catch flight home at 6:50 pm
Kathmandu is exactly how everyone describes it, enough said. You don’t need more than one or two days in this city. There are some interesting things to check out including.
Pokhara- 4 DAY Poon Hill Trek
We woke up early to watch the sunrise and enjoy some yoga 🙂
We were greeted by these two cuties on our way back from the Trek.
We spent a few days in Pokhara after our Trek. We walked around a bit, took a boat ride on the river, as well as visited some temples. We also tried out parahawking!
Parahawking
Parahawking was a bit pricey because it is a monopoly. Other companies offer paragliding off the same area of mountain at much lower prices, however you don’t get the experience of flying and interacting with the hawks. I think its was well worth it to spend the extra cash and try it.
Chitwan
Really incredible vines and terminate mansions!
Jungle Safari
That’s why these people are all chill and happy!
Phil fit in pretty well….
