My cousin and her husband came to visit last weekend. They have been living in India for the past two years I think, don’t quote me on that maybe more or less. So it was kind of amazing to have a family reunion so far from home… You will not believe the amount of mischief the four of us could get into in just three days and 4 nights …. DUBAI HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!
Night Club: 360
DAY 1: Like any good tourists we had to visit the sights.. starting with the Burj Al Arab.. yes I know you are all familiar with my beloved Burj by this point.. but have you seen jumping skills infront of the Burj like this??
pretty impressive that 3 people know how to jump.. now if Phil could only get over his fear of breaking a hip!!!!
The beach located right in the front of the burn al arab is a free public beach. You can layout, or just stop and take some pics in front of this infamous 7 star hotel.
Welcome to Atlantis. Atlantis is famous for its Friday Brunch called Safron and its night club indulgence. It also has an array of shops and restaurants, including my favourite Nobu! They have the aquarium as well and an amazing water park with opportunities to swim with the dolphins.
My cousin and I are not really into touristy things therefore we only spent about 30 minutes in Atlantis looking around. During this time Mike discovered THE GOLD TO GO ATM!!! yes a real ATM that gives you gold bars!!!!!!!!!!!!! only in Dubai 🙂
DUBAI CREEK and BUR DUBAI
These are two towns across a creek from each other. They consist of old souks, remember that Arabic word? Souk = market. They have many souks : Gold Souk, Perfume Souk, Spice Souk, Fabric Souk…..

Don’t forget you are in the Middle East. It is customary to haggle for your purchases!
Listen up men, if you crack this open and eat it…. your women will be very very happy 😉
Riding across the Creek
For a dirham you can ride across the creek between the two towns on an old school boat. If you want to splurge a little, at night they have dinner dhow cruises in this same area.
PERFECTO… NUTS AND SHISHA !!!
After the Creek and Atlantis we headed to a Lebanese Restaurant that overlooked the Dubai Fountains.. Lovely. It is called Abdel Wahab. The food is fine, but you are really there for the amazing views. Yes you can watch the fountains for free right outside the dubai mall. But it is a great experience if you want to splurge and eat right next to them.

and its quite romantic.
We headed to Barasti’s at night for some nice music and a few drinks. I mentioned this place in an earlier post. If your in doubt of a place to go in Dubai for some good night life, Barasti is always a good default choice.
Go big or go home!
Don’t mind if I do!
Day 2: Off to ski dubai.. We started the morning with ya know ..some downhill skiing at the Mall of Emirates Ski Dubai..
We ended skiing by grabbing some grub at cheesecake factory next to ski dubai! caramel apple cider whoop!
ok ok so if that didn’t make you jealous enough…. we continued the day with a Desert Safari including dune bashing, camel rides, henna tattoos, a huge feast, and Shisha. You can find these for very cheap on cobone.com or groupon.ae . They safari packages include all of these wonderful activities, and are a must-do if you are visiting this country. Where else in the world could you ski during the day and enjoy the desert at night… pause.. yes this is your moment to be very very jealous!
Emirate style 🙂
checking out the shishas
Henna tattoos
yes even phil did it

Dates and Arabian Coffee…oooo la la
man with his trusty hawk
and for all of you wondering why my wrap looks cray cray..that’s because i thought that i was talented enough to do it myself… just adds that much more spice to the picture 😉
Day 3: Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is a must see as well. Abu Dhabi is much quieter than Dubai. It is a little more conservative as well, so be mindful of your dress when visiting. They have a wonderful corniche, and a fantastic cultural village that will teach you about their history. And of course no visit to AD would be complete without stopping to see Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
